Alejandro Tabilo has been rewarded for one of the most spectacular points of the summer after his stunning tweener lob against Ben Shelton was voted July’s Hot Shot of the Month.

\Alejandro Tabilo has added another highlight to his 2026 season after his spectacular point against Ben Shelton at the Mubadala DC Open was voted July’s Hot Shot of the Month.

The Chilean produced a remarkable display of speed, touch and creativity to turn what appeared to be a lost point into one of the most memorable rallies of the month.

Tabilo was initially forced to defend at the net before Shelton responded with a lob that sent him racing towards the baseline. With his back to the net and seemingly out of options, Tabilo produced the shot of the point.

The Chilean connected with a perfectly executed tweener lob, sending the ball over Shelton and into the far corner of the court. The shot landed right near the baseline, leaving Shelton with little chance of keeping the rally alive.

Tabilo immediately moved forward and finished the point with an overhead winner, completing an extraordinary sequence that drew a huge reaction from the crowd.

The spectacular play earned Tabilo the Hot Shot of the Month presented by Yokohama award for July, a fan-voted honour recognising the best and most entertaining shots on the ATP Tour.

Tabilo now joins a growing list of 2026 winners that includes Alexander Zverev, Joao Fonseca and Lorenzo Musetti.

With the North American hard-court swing now underway, Tabilo’s remarkable effort has set a high standard for the next Hot Shot of the Month.

The question now is whether another player can produce an even more spectacular moment in August.
