The Asia Pickleball Summit 2.0 (APS 2.0) took place on June 6 and 7, 2026, wrapping up successfully after a two-day event at Hextar World Exhibition Hall in Empire City, Malaysia. The summit drew around 1,500 participants, uniting key stakeholders from the global pickleball ecosystem.
Government Support Highlighted at APS 2.0
Malaysia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari, was unable to attend due to prior commitments. He was represented by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports (KBS), Mordi Bimol. In his speech, Mordi said the summit would bring meaningful benefits to Malaysia’s pickleball industry and its stakeholders, while also strengthening ties with the international pickleball community through collaboration and knowledge exchange.
“This is indeed a great day for pickleball. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the organisers - ReSkills, AFA, and Asia Pickleball TV - for bringing together such an impressive gathering of leaders, innovators, and passionate advocates of this fast-growing sport,” he said.
Mordi also noted that APS 2.0 reflects increasing recognition of pickleball within Malaysia’s sports governance and highlights the government’s commitment to building an inclusive and globally competitive sporting ecosystem.
Industry Growth and Strategic Vision
ReSkills Founder and CEO Jin Tan said pickleball’s rapid expansion across Asia and the world since late 2024 has captured the attention of players, entrepreneurs, and sports enthusiasts alike. He also expressed gratitude to title sponsors LBS Bina and Group Executive Chairman Tan Sri Lim Hock San for their support in making the summit a success.
He explained that the summit brings together brand owners, federation leaders, court operators, professional players, and investors from around the world to exchange insights and build cross-border partnerships that will support pickleball’s continued growth in Asia.
“Anchored in a shared mission to champion the growth of pickleball across Asia, APS 2.0 supports players, empowers brands, and builds a strong, connected pickleball community,” he said.
Strong Participation and Global Engagement
Organising Chairperson Ken Lim said approximately 1,500 participants attended APS 2.0, gaining insights into global pickleball trends and how they can be applied within Malaysia’s growing local ecosystem. He described the summit as delivering “2 Days. 3 Experiences.” through Conference Talks, Exhibition Expo, and Networking Gameplay.
The event featured representatives from 14 countries, over 40 international speakers, 18 panels and talks covering policy, business, strategy, and performance, as well as 26 exhibition booths showcasing brands, technology, equipment, facilities, and media organisations. Participants also took part in unlimited networking gameplay sessions, offering direct engagement with industry leaders and professionals on court.
Looking Ahead to APS 3.0
“Next year, we will integrate even more resources and partnerships to make the Asia Pickleball Summit 3.0 even better. We also hope to elevate the development of pickleball in Malaysia further and help the world discover Malaysia as a growing hub for the sport,” he said.
