Aryna Sabalenka continues her commanding run at the top of the WTA rankings, reaching key career milestones including a 17-tournament quarterfinal streak and moving into the top 10 longest No. 1 ranking streaks in WTA history.

Aryna Sabalenka is continuing to strengthen her grip on the World No. 1 position, with a level of consistency that places her among the most dominant players in recent WTA history.

Even without claiming a fourth title at the Madrid Open, Sabalenka still delivered another strong showing by reaching the quarterfinals, outperforming all other players ranked inside the Top 5. This result extends her remarkable run of form across the season.

The Belarusian star has now reached at least the quarterfinal stage in 17 consecutive tournaments, a streak that dates back to February last year. This level of consistency has been a key factor in maintaining her position at the top of the rankings, separating her from her closest rivals.

Sabalenka is also climbing the all-time WTA rankings list. She is set to complete her 81st and 82nd consecutive weeks as World No. 1 during the Rome tournament period, moving her ahead of Martina Hingis, who held the position for 80 straight weeks. This places Sabalenka alone in 10th place for the longest uninterrupted No. 1 streaks since the WTA rankings began in 1975.

Her achievements are not limited to consecutive weeks. During the second week of the Rome event, she is also expected to reach 90 total career weeks as World No. 1, making her one of only 11 players in WTA history to surpass that milestone.

Sabalenka first reached the top ranking in 2023 for an eight-week spell before returning to No. 1 on 21 October 2024, where she has remained ever since. Her combined reign highlights both early breakthrough success and sustained dominance at the highest level.

Looking ahead, the battle for ranking supremacy could intensify during the clay-court swing, especially with Roland Garros approaching. While Sabalenka currently holds a strong advantage, upcoming results in Rome could still influence the race at the top, keeping the pressure on as the season progresses.
