Paula Badosa has made headlines at the Credit One Charleston Open not only for her first‑round win but also for landing tickets to see global music star Bad Bunny after publicly asking for help on social media.
After defeating Kayla Day in straight sets to reach the second round, Badosa shared an update about her earlier message to Bad Bunny. She had posted a plea in both English and Spanish before the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships when she realised tickets to his world tour were sold out.
Badosa confirmed that the appeal worked and she now has tickets to his Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour concert, crediting the artist himself for making it happen.
The Spanish player also explained how Bad Bunny’s music fits into her routine. She described herself as one of his early fans and said she listens to his songs before matches to get into the right mindset. A recent on‑court celebration was inspired by one of his tracks, something she and her team enjoy as a light‑hearted moment during competition.
Badosa is competing in Charleston while on the comeback trail from injury. After overcoming physical challenges this season, she has shown improved form and is now preparing for her next match against No. 10 seed Maria Sakkari.
Her blend of competitive focus and personal personality has added an engaging subplot to her tournament week, resonating with fans both on social media and at the event site in Charleston.
