Juan Martin del Potro, Ash Barty and Svetlana Kuznetsova headline the nominees for the International Tennis Hall of Fame Class of 2027, recognising three outstanding careers that left a lasting impact on the sport.

The trio enjoyed success at the highest level, winning Grand Slam singles titles and reaching the top of their respective games. Fans will also have a say in the selection process, with voting open until October 25.

Del Potro is remembered for his powerful game and remarkable determination throughout a career disrupted by injuries. The former world No. 3 reached the pinnacle of men's tennis at the 2009 US Open, defeating Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals before overcoming Roger Federer in a five-set final to claim his maiden Grand Slam title.

The Argentine added another major achievement in 2016 when he helped his country win its first Davis Cup title. He also earned a silver medal at the Rio Olympics that year, further cementing his place among Argentina's sporting greats.

Del Potro claimed his final tour-level title at Indian Wells in 2018, defeating Federer in the final after saving three championship points. His combination of major victories, resilience and popularity made him one of the most memorable players of his generation.

Barty's career was shorter but equally remarkable. The Australian reached world No. 1 and won three Grand Slam singles titles on three different surfaces: the 2019 French Open, 2021 Wimbledon and 2022 Australian Open.

She spent 121 weeks at the top of the WTA rankings, including 114 consecutive weeks, and collected 15 singles titles and 12 doubles titles on the tour. Barty also won mixed doubles bronze at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and was named WTA Player of the Year in 2019 and 2021.

Her decision to retire in March 2022, while still ranked world No. 1, surprised the tennis world. Having achieved success across clay, grass and hard courts, Barty left the sport at the height of her career and on her own terms.

Kuznetsova completes the headline trio, bringing an impressive record across both singles and doubles. The Russian won the US Open in 2004 and the French Open in 2009, adding two Grand Slam doubles titles at the Australian Open in 2005 and 2012.

She finished her career with 18 WTA singles titles and 16 doubles titles, reaching a career-high ranking of No. 2 in singles and No. 3 in doubles. Her ability to compete at the highest level in both disciplines made her one of the most accomplished players of her era.

The fan vote offers supporters an opportunity to help shape the Class of 2027. Voting is available at vote.tennisfame.com until October 25, with the three highest-ranked candidates receiving bonus percentage points in the final selection process.

The fan vote winner will receive three bonus percentage points, second place will receive two, and third place will receive one. Candidates must secure at least 75 per cent of the combined official vote and fan-vote bonus to earn induction.

Fan-voting results are expected shortly after the voting period closes, while the final inductees and induction celebration details will be announced later this year.

With three major champions among the leading nominees, the Class of 2027 offers an opportunity to celebrate careers defined by Grand Slam success, perseverance and lasting contributions to tennis.
