Fabio Di Giannantonio believes MotoGP's focus on which circuits suit Ducati or Aprilia has become overstated, arguing that rider ability and teamwork can have a greater impact on results.
The VR46 rider pointed to Marc Marquez's recent form as an example, with the Ducati rider winning five of the last seven Grands Prix across a variety of circuits.
"In my opinion, looking for tracks that favour Ducati or Aprilia is something you journalists are particularly interested in," Di Giannantonio said.
He compared the debate to the old discussions about certain circuits being better suited to Honda or Yamaha, suggesting that such theories do not fully explain what happens on track.
For Di Giannantonio, Marquez's performances provide a clear example. The eight-time world champion has continued to deliver strong results across different types of circuits, highlighting the influence of both the rider and the way a team works with its motorcycle.
"The truth is that Marquez is silencing everyone," Di Giannantonio said.

The VR46 rider has also experienced a frustrating spell of his own. After a strong start to the season, he has not returned to the Sunday podium since his Catalan Grand Prix victory in May.
At Misano, Di Giannantonio qualified fourth but endured a difficult opening lap that dropped him to 10th. He recovered to finish seventh, around 20 seconds behind race winner Marquez, and currently sits 51 points behind joint championship leaders Marquez and Jorge Martin.
Despite those results, Di Giannantonio remains confident in his team's potential. He believes the underlying pace has been competitive at a wide range of circuits, even if recent mistakes and difficult circumstances have prevented that speed from consistently producing strong finishes.
"We're showing good, often excellent, speed at every track," he said.
The Italian heads into the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring determined to turn that pace into a stronger result. With VR46 currently fourth in the championship, Di Giannantonio remains optimistic that better results can follow if the team can put together a clean weekend.
