Starting next year, the ICE will see its fuel flow capacity increase by 5%. This translates to a direct power boost, pushing output from 400kW to a formidable 420kW. Crucially, this initial bump is designed to be achievable without demanding major hardware overhauls, allowing teams to integrate the changes more smoothly.
Strategic Energy Management: ERS and Overtake Mode
While the ICE gets a lift, the electric motor's maximum deployment will be dialed back from 350kW to 300kW. However, the crucial Overtake Mode remains robust at 350kW, ensuring that the high-speed passes we love will still be possible. In a smart move, the maximum energy harvesting limit has also been significantly increased from 250kW to 375kW, helping drivers recover more power efficiently. Simultaneously, the maximum harvest limit will climb once again to 400kW, while both deployment and Overtake Mode power levels will hold steady. This progressive shift is engineered to cement a more pronounced 60/40 ICE/ERS power distribution, fundamentally altering the car's performance profile.

These pivotal adjustments are a direct response to feedback from the paddock. Concerns had mounted over the sheer workload on drivers and the excessive energy management required on many circuits.
