Flavio Cobolli has secured his place at the 2026 Nitto ATP Finals, earning his debut at the prestigious year-end tournament after an impressive season on the ATP Tour.
The 24-year-old Italian confirmed his qualification on Tuesday after Casper Ruud defeated Rafael Jodar at the Rolex Paris Masters. The result ensured Cobolli would finish among the leading players in the ATP Race to Turin, securing his place at the season-ending championship from November 15 to 22.
Cobolli's qualification marks another milestone for Italian tennis, with the rising star set to compete against the world's best in front of his home fans.
His journey this season has been a story of resilience. Despite opening the year with a victory at the United Cup, Cobolli endured a difficult spell, losing four consecutive matches and struggling to find consistent form. However, the Italian quickly turned his season around, producing some of the best performances of his career and establishing himself among the tour's leading contenders.
His breakthrough included a first ATP 500 title in Acapulco, victories over established stars such as Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev, and several impressive runs at major tournaments. Cobolli also reached the Munich final, the Cincinnati semi-finals and the Wimbledon quarter-finals before achieving his biggest milestone at Roland Garros.

One of the defining moments of Cobolli's season came at the French Open, where he reached his first Grand Slam final. The achievement made him only the third man born in the 2000s to reach a major final, following Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner. His performances throughout the season have demonstrated his ability to compete against the highest-ranked players, making his qualification for the ATP Finals a fitting reward for his progress.
Cobolli's arrival further strengthens Italy's presence at the Nitto ATP Finals, joining compatriots Jannik Sinner, Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Musetti among the country's players who have qualified for the prestigious competition. With the tournament taking place in Turin, Cobolli will have the opportunity to showcase his progress on home soil while competing against the elite of men's tennis.
While Cobolli has secured his place, the race for the remaining spots continues at the Rolex Paris Masters. Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, Ben Shelton and Daniil Medvedev are among the players already confirmed for Turin, with several contenders still fighting to qualify.
Rafael Jodar, Alex de Minaur and Novak Djokovic remain among the names involved in the battle for the remaining positions, adding further intrigue to the closing stages of the season.
For Cobolli, however, qualification is already a major achievement. After overcoming a difficult start to the year, the Italian has earned his place among the sport's biggest names and will now prepare for the biggest tournament of his career.
