Gresini Racing has revealed its 2026 MotoGP bikes, blending a familiar livery with major technical upgrades. Alex Marquez will ride a factory-spec Ducati, while Fermin Aldeguer faces a challenging sophomore campaign on the 2025-spec machine.

Gresini Racing has officially revealed its 2026 MotoGP machines, combining a recognizable look with significant technical upgrades that could shape their season ambitions.

The new livery, unveiled in Kuala Lumpur, retains the team’s signature pastel blue accented with red and black. Introduced in 2022 when Gresini became an independent Ducati satellite squad, the colour scheme reflects continuity, even as the bikes beneath promise a substantial performance leap.

Alex Marquez will benefit from a major boost, taking the wheel of a factory-spec GP26 Ducati. This represents a return to top-tier machinery for the younger Marquez brother, last experienced during his 2020 rookie season with Repsol Honda. The upgrade puts him on the same level as Marc Marquez, reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia, and VR46’s Fabio di Giannantonio, positioning Alex to consistently challenge for podiums.

Fermin Aldeguer, meanwhile, will ride the 2025-spec GP25, a proven but demanding machine. Despite its championship-winning history with Marc Marquez, the GP25 has been notoriously difficult for other riders to master. Aldeguer’s pre-season preparation has also been disrupted by a broken left femur sustained during training at the Aspar circuit, preventing him from attending the livery launch with team principal Nadia Padovani.

The 2026 season carries high stakes for Gresini, building on a breakthrough 2025 campaign. Last year both riders claimed their first Grand Prix victories, helping the team finish second in the teams’ standings and outperforming Ducati’s other satellite outfit, VR46. Alex Marquez achieved three wins at Jerez, Barcelona, and Sepang, finishing as the championship runner-up, while Aldeguer scored a memorable victory in Indonesia and earned Rookie of the Year honours.

With the launch complete, the focus now turns to testing. Alex Marquez is scheduled to run the new Gresini Ducati at the official Sepang pre-season test from February 3 to 5. The team missed this week’s Shakedown test, which was reserved for manufacturers’ test riders and rookies. As the grid prepares for 2026, Honda and LCR are the final teams yet to reveal their new machines.
