Achraf Hakimi has credited Luis Enrique with completely reshaping the mentality at Paris Saint-Germain, describing the squad as a united “family” ahead of their Champions League final clash with Arsenal FC.
Hakimi said Enrique’s arrival marked a major cultural shift inside the dressing room, with players now fully committed to working for one another on and off the ball. He believes this collective mindset has been key to PSG’s success in recent seasons, including multiple domestic titles and another run to the top stage of European football.
Speaking on the manager’s influence, Hakimi highlighted how much Enrique has impacted both the team’s identity and his own development as a player.
“He has changed everything at PSG,” Hakimi explained. “Now we are a team, we play for each other, we run for each other, we are a family. He changed my mentality and made me better as a footballer and as a man.”
PSG have also received a major boost ahead of the final, with Enrique confirming that all players are available for selection after injury concerns surrounding Hakimi following the semi-final against Bayern Munich. The full-back is expected to be fit for the match in Budapest.
Hakimi has been one of PSG’s standout performers this season, contributing goals and assists from right-back while remaining a key figure in both attack and defence.
Despite his strong connection to former club Inter Milan, where he previously enjoyed a successful spell, Hakimi stressed that his focus is fully on PSG’s European ambition. He admitted he still follows Inter’s results closely but said the Champions League final remains his main priority.
Looking ahead to the showdown with Arsenal, Hakimi acknowledged the challenge awaiting PSG, describing the Premier League side as a strong and well-organised opponent in what promises to be a tightly contested final.
