Honda has confirmed that Red Bull will return as a sponsor of its factory MotoGP team from the 2027 season, marking a major change to the manufacturer’s sponsorship line-up ahead of the new 850cc era.
The agreement brings Red Bull back to Honda four years after the energy drinks giant ended its previous partnership following Marc Marquez’s departure from the team. Red Bull had originally been associated with Honda from 2015 through 2023.
The new deal is expected to give Red Bull a more prominent presence on Honda’s 2027 MotoGP bikes. While the previous partnership mainly featured branding on the fairings and forks, Honda’s announcement suggests the latest agreement involves a deeper level of collaboration.
HRC president Koji Watanabe said the partnership was particularly important as MotoGP prepares to introduce its new 850cc machines in 2027.
“Going into the new championship, with the 850cc bikes, it is essential to have partners who share the same goals and ambitions,” Watanabe said.
The return of Red Bull will also have a direct impact on Honda’s rider line-up. Fabio Quartararo, who is set to join Honda as its flagship rider in 2027, will have to end his long-standing partnership with Monster.

Quartararo has been associated with Monster since entering MotoGP in 2019 with Yamaha. Motorsport.com reports that the Frenchman needed to terminate his existing agreement with the brand, with Honda understood to have covered the related compensation.
The sponsorship changes reflect a wider reshuffling across MotoGP. Red Bull currently has a major presence with KTM and Tech3, but its branding is expected to disappear from Tech3’s bikes next season as the Austrian company increases its visibility with Honda.
Monster is also facing changes to its MotoGP presence. The American energy drinks company has been Yamaha’s title sponsor since 2019, but is expected to reduce or end that role. Monster also became Aprilia’s title sponsor midway through the 2026 season while retaining a smaller partnership with Ducati.
For Honda, the Red Bull agreement forms part of a broader push ahead of the 2027 regulations. The manufacturer is also preparing a special livery to mark the 60th anniversary of its first premier-class appearance in 1966.
With Red Bull returning to Honda and Quartararo preparing to switch teams, the 2027 season is already reshaping the commercial landscape of MotoGP before the new generation of bikes even takes to the track.
