Italian MotoGP riders Luca Marini and Francesco Bagnaia are not just preparing for the 2026 season in Malaysia, they are also enjoying some of the country’s most beloved local foods.
Marini, who rides for the Honda HRC Castrol team, said he eats roti canai every day while in Malaysia. He compared the flatbread to the Italian piadina he grew up with and praised its taste and versatility. Marini added that roti canai is available at his hotel, making it an easy and satisfying choice during his stay.
Bagnaia, a two-time world champion with the Ducati Lenovo Team, also expressed his fondness for Malaysian food. Among his favourites are nasi lemak, nasi goreng and roti canai topped with cheese.
The Ducati rider spoke highly of the Sepang International Circuit, ranking it among his top three favourite tracks in the world. He said the combination of speed, technical complexity and the Malaysian heat makes the venue special.
Both riders have been in Malaysia for official testing at Sepang and for the MotoGP 2026 season launch events held in Kuala Lumpur. Their positive comments about the local cuisine and racing facilities underscore the appeal Malaysia holds for international competitors ahead of the new season.
