Jack Miller put Yamaha’s new V4 engine at the top of the timesheets on the second day of MotoGP’s 2026 Sepang shakedown test. The Pramac rider narrowly beat KTM’s Pol Espargaro as teams continue crucial pre-season preparations.

Day two of the 2026 Sepang MotoGP shakedown test saw Jack Miller record the fastest lap, giving Yamaha’s new V4-powered M1 its best showing so far in pre-season running. Miller set a 1min 57.908s lap in the closing hour, narrowly edging out KTM test rider Pol Espargaro by just 0.025s.

Aleix Espargaro was third fastest on the Honda, just over a tenth behind Pol, while Yamaha’s Monster factory riders Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins rounded out the top five. Quartararo’s appearance marked his first outing since reports linked him with a move to Honda in 2027.

World Superbike champion Toprak Razgatlioglu, riding for Pramac Yamaha as a rookie, was seventh on the timesheet, almost nine tenths off Miller’s pace. LCR Honda’s Diogo Moreira improved on his Day One effort but remained more than two seconds behind the leader.

Ducati test rider Michele Pirro and other factory and test riders filled out the rest of the order, with Mika Kallio more than six seconds back, reportedly trying an ‘850cc’ KTM test package.

The Sepang shakedown continues with its final scheduled day tomorrow, after which teams will have a short break before the official pre-season test from February 3-5.
