Jorge Martin suffered yet another heavy fall during MotoGP’s Barcelona test, capping a brutal weekend that saw the Aprilia rider crash six times across three days at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

Jorge Martin endured another frightening crash during Monday’s official MotoGP test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, extending a disastrous run that has left the Aprilia rider battered after six separate falls over three days.

The latest incident occurred around 90 minutes into the post-race test session when Martin crashed heavily at Turn 7, bringing out a red flag.

Trackside reports confirmed the Spaniard remained conscious after the fall and was able to move his limbs, although medical staff quickly fitted him with a neck brace before transporting him by ambulance to the circuit medical centre for further checks.

The crash added to what has become one of Martin’s toughest weekends in MotoGP.

His troubles began during Friday’s opening practice session when he suffered a heavy impact that resulted in a slight concussion. Another crash followed later in practice, while Saturday brought more frustration after a fall in qualifying damaged his Aprilia machine and prevented him from fully competing in Q2.

Martin also crashed during the Sprint race before being involved in another incident in Sunday’s Grand Prix. After surviving the chaotic opening stages of the race, he was later struck by Raul Fernandez, marking his fifth crash of the weekend before Monday’s test accident added another setback.

Aprilia later confirmed that Martin was conscious and calm following the latest incident, with initial examinations focusing on injuries to his left elbow and right leg.

Although no fractures were immediately detected at the circuit medical centre, the team opted to send Martin to Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona for more detailed examinations and precautionary tests.

The repeated crashes not only disrupted Aprilia’s testing programme but also raised fresh concerns over Martin’s physical condition heading into the next phase of the MotoGP season.

For now, the priority remains the rider’s recovery as the MotoGP paddock awaits further medical updates from Barcelona.
