Bayern Munich's sporting director Max Eberl has offered a fresh update on Harry Kane's future at the club. The England captain's contract at the Allianz Arena expires in 2027, and he has attracted interest from clubs across Europe with his prolific displays for the Bavarian giants. Kane has said he's willing to discuss an extension with Bayern and Eberl says negotiations are now taking place.

Kane Contract Talks: Bayern Moves to Secure Star Striker

Transfer gossip is always swirling, but for Bayern Munich, keeping their talisman Harry Kane is now a top priority rather than mere speculation. After an outstanding debut season, the German giants are actively negotiating to extend the striker’s stay.

Harry Kane doesn’t seem ready to end his Bayern Munich chapter just yet.

The England forward will become a free agent in the summer of 2027 and is expected to attract plenty of interest. Yet Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed the club is already taking steps to keep Kane in Bavaria.

"We are in talks with Harry," Eberl said.

The feeling appears mutual, with Sky Germany reporting that Kane is “more than willing” to continue at Bayern.

Kane’s January Release Clause

Kane’s willingness to stay could also help Bayern fend off any January suitors, as he has an active release clause.

The striker is available for £57 million until the end of the month, but no club has made a serious move to trigger it, raising hopes that the 32-year-old remains at Bayern.

Kane’s Performance Since Joining Bayern

Since arriving from Tottenham in August 2023, Kane has been a goalscoring machine. Across his first two seasons, he netted 85 goals in 96 appearances across all competitions.

Of those, 62 goals came in the Bundesliga, earning him the league’s Golden Boot in both the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons.

This season, Kane has already scored 21 Bundesliga goals, showing no sign of slowing down, until last Saturday’s shock home defeat to Augsburg.

A Rare Blip: Kane in Shock Loss to Augsburg

Bayern took the lead through Hiroki Ito in the 23rd minute, but Augsburg scored twice in six minutes late in the second half, handing the Bavarians their first league defeat of the season.

Augsburg playfully highlighted Kane’s rare blank in a post on X, sharing a text conversation:

"What time are you coming?"

Kane’s photo was sent in reply.

Wtf does that mean?"

"It means I’m not showing up."

Despite this off night, Kane remains ten goals clear in the Bundesliga Golden Boot race. Bayern and Kane will aim to move past the Augsburg loss when they host PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Wednesday.
