DeAndre Jordan Leads the Clippers' Block Chart
The Los Angeles Clippers entered the NBA as the Buffalo Braves before relocating to San Diego and eventually Los Angeles. Despite winning three Pacific Division titles, the franchise has yet to capture an NBA championship across its 56-year history. When it comes to protecting the rim, however, one player stands clearly above the rest.
1. DeAndre Jordan – 1,277 Blocks
The 38-year-old DeAndre Jordan is heading into his 19th professional season with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2026-27, but his strongest years came during his long stint with the Clippers. As Blake Griffin's high-flying partner in the "Lob City" era alongside Chris Paul, Jordan established himself as one of the NBA's premier interior defenders. He posted at least 13.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game in three consecutive seasons from 2014 to 2016.
Across 241 games during that stretch, Jordan averaged 11.5 points, 14.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 2.3 blocks, while shooting an incredible 69.6% from the field. His defensive impact earned him two All-Defensive First Team selections, while he also collected two All-NBA honors, making the First and Third Teams. Jordan additionally finished among the top four in Defensive Player of the Year voting in three seasons.
2. Benoit Benjamin – 1,117 Blocks
Selected third overall in the 1985 NBA Draft, Benoit Benjamin joined the Clippers after playing his college basketball at Creighton. Known as "Big Ben", Benjamin spent nearly six seasons in Los Angeles before being traded to the Seattle SuperSonics midway through the 1990-91 campaign.
During his five full seasons with the franchise, he recorded at least 2.6 blocks per game every year, including a career-best 3.4 blocks per game in 1987-88. Benjamin finished his Clippers career with averages of 13.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.8 blocks across 406 appearances, including 315 starts.
3. Elton Brand – 1,039 Blocks
The Chicago Bulls selected Elton Brand with the first overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft, and he immediately established himself as one of the league's most productive young big men. Brand shared the Rookie of the Year award with Houston's Steve Francis after averaging 20.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.6 blocks, while leading the NBA with 4.3 offensive rebounds per game.
The Clippers acquired Brand ahead of the 2001-02 season, and he earned the first of his two All-Star selections as a Clipper. His standout campaign came in 2005-06, when Brand averaged a career-best 24.7 points per game and matched his career-high with 2.5 blocks, while also contributing 10.0 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steal per game. He was rewarded with his lone All-NBA Second Team selection. Across 459 games with the Clippers, Brand averaged 20.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.0 steal and 2.3 blocks.
4. Bob McAdoo – 830 Blocks
Bob McAdoo brought elite scoring and defensive ability to the franchise during his time with the Buffalo Braves. Selected second overall in the 1972 NBA Draft, the Hall of Famer spent almost five seasons with Buffalo from 1972-73 through 1976-77.
McAdoo won Rookie of the Year after averaging 18.0 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 80 games. He then took his game to another level, winning three consecutive scoring titles while averaging more than 30.6 points per game from 1974 to 1976. His best scoring season came in 1974-75, when he averaged a career-high 34.5 points per game and won the MVP award.
McAdoo was an All-Star in each of his seasons with the Braves and earned two All-NBA selections, including First and Second Team honors. He averaged 28.2 points, 12.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.2 blocks across 334 games with the franchise. He also set career highs of 3.3 blocks and 15.1 rebounds per game at age 22 during the 1973-74 season. McAdoo finished his career as a five-time All-Star, Hall of Famer and member of the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team.
5. Chris Kaman – 707 Blocks
Chris Kaman completes the Clippers' top five after recording 707 blocks during his eight seasons with the franchise. The Clippers selected "The Caveman" with the sixth overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, and he went on to make 493 appearances, including 425 starts, between 2003 and 2011.
Kaman averaged 11.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.4 blocks during his Clippers career. His lone All-Star appearance came in 2009-10, when he averaged a career-high 18.5 points per game across 76 games. Kaman arguably produced his most complete campaign in 2007-08, averaging 15.7 points while setting career highs with 12.7 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game.
