Malaysia's challenge in the mixed doubles event at the Taiwan Open came to an end on Thursday after both remaining pairs were knocked out in the second round in Taipei.
Low Han Chen and Chan Wen Tse were unable to build on their impressive opening-round upset, falling 21-18, 21-17 to Taiwan's world No. 40 pair Wu Guan Xun and Lee Chia Hsin.
The Malaysian duo had produced one of the tournament's biggest surprises by defeating fifth seeds Liu Kuang Heng and Hsu Yin Hui in the first round, earning one of their best results of the season on the BWF World Tour. Although they could not progress further, their encouraging run highlighted their growing potential on the international stage.

Meanwhile, Chen Tang Jie and Clarissa San also bowed out after pushing Thailand's fourth seeds Ruttanapak Oupthong and Jhenicha Sudjaipraparat in a hard-fought three-game contest. The Malaysians took the opening game but eventually lost 17-21, 21-12, 21-16.
Tang Jie and Clarissa had earlier survived a tense first-round battle against Indonesia's Renaldi Samosir and Masita Mahmudin, prevailing 21-19, 18-21, 22-20 to secure their place in the last 16.
Although neither Malaysian pair advanced to the quarter-finals, the tournament provided valuable match experience. Low Han and Chan Wen Tse continued to build on their breakthrough performance, while Tang Jie and Clarissa gained another competitive outing as they continue developing their partnership against some of the world's top combinations.
