Marc Marquez continued his resurgence with a commanding victory at the Czech Grand Prix, defeating Ducati teammate Francesco Bagnaia and surprise podium finisher Ai Ogura. The result further strengthens his championship challenge as the MotoGP title race grows increasingly competitive.

Marc Marquez extended his winning streak and boosted his championship hopes with a clinical victory at the Czech Grand Prix, mastering a tense battle at Brno to secure his second consecutive MotoGP win.

The Ducati factory rider once again demonstrated why he remains one of the sport's most formidable competitors, combining patience and precision to overcome teammate Francesco Bagnaia before holding off a late challenge from Trackhouse Aprilia rider Ai Ogura.

Starting from the front row, Marquez remained close to the leaders throughout the opening stages while carefully managing his tyres. Polesitter Ogura initially led the race, but Bagnaia took control on the second lap and looked set to dictate the pace from the front.

Marquez quickly settled into second place and spent much of the race shadowing his teammate. As Bagnaia attempted to build a small advantage, Marquez steadily reduced the gap and positioned himself for a decisive attack in the closing stages.

The breakthrough came with eight laps remaining when Marquez launched his move at Turn 4. Once in front, the eight-time world champion immediately increased the pace and looked on course for a comfortable victory.

However, Ogura had other plans.

The Japanese rookie produced one of the standout performances of the season, overtaking Bagnaia late in the race and closing rapidly on Marquez in the final laps. Despite the pressure, Marquez remained composed and crossed the finish line just four-tenths of a second ahead of Ogura to secure another crucial victory.

Ogura's second-place finish marked one of the strongest results of his MotoGP career, while Bagnaia completed the podium after securing his fourth consecutive top-three finish.

The result also had major implications for the championship standings.

Current points leader Marco Bezzecchi was absent from the race after serving a suspension following an incident in Saturday's Sprint, creating a valuable opportunity for his rivals to gain ground.

Marquez took full advantage, continuing a remarkable recovery in the standings. Just weeks ago, he trailed the championship lead by more than 100 points. Following back-to-back victories in Hungary and Brno, he has now climbed to fourth place and significantly reduced the gap to the front.

Jorge Martin endured a more difficult afternoon. The reigning world champion served two long-lap penalties and could only finish ninth, although he still managed to cut Bezzecchi's lead to just five points.

Behind the leading trio, Fabio Di Giannantonio delivered another strong performance to finish fourth after recovering from an early drop down the order. Joan Mir secured a valuable result for Honda, while Fermin Aldeguer, Raul Fernandez and Luca Marini also collected important points.

Pedro Acosta appeared on course for a top-five finish before a technical issue forced him out on the final lap. Yamaha's difficult weekend continued as both Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins retired from the race.

With Marquez rediscovering his winning form and the championship gaps continuing to shrink, the battle for the 2026 MotoGP crown is rapidly becoming one of the most compelling title fights in recent years. Brno may prove to be a pivotal turning point as the season enters its decisive phase.
