Diogo Moreira continued his encouraging development in MotoGP by securing a career-best Sunday result with a 10th-place finish at the Mugello Circuit.
The Pro Honda LCR rider started from eighth on the grid and made a strong opening to put himself in contention for a solid points haul. However, the Brazilian soon faced the challenge of managing tyre wear over the course of the race.
Despite the difficulties, Moreira remained composed and adopted a measured approach, carefully preserving his tyres while staying competitive in a tightly contested midfield battle.
The 21-year-old fought through several on-track duels before taking the chequered flag in 10th place, marking his best result in a full-length Sunday MotoGP race.
Moreira said the race was demanding but provided another valuable learning experience as he continues to adapt to the premier class.
“I had fun today, but it was challenging to manage everything perfectly and maintain a good pace until the end,” he said.
The Brazilian was pleased not only with the result but also with the opportunity to learn from racing alongside more experienced riders.
“I did my best, learned a lot from riding behind strong rivals and battling with them, and we secured a top-10 finish in Sunday’s race, which is important.”
Moreira also praised the progress being made by the team and believes they are heading in the right direction.
“We’re working really well, and we need to keep going in this direction,” he added.
