Pro Honda LCR rider Diogo Moreira finished 17th after Friday’s sessions at the United States Grand Prix, as he continues to build experience in his first MotoGP appearance at the Circuit of the Americas.
Arriving straight from the previous round, the Brazilian used the opening day to familiarise himself with the demanding Austin circuit, which is known for its length and technical complexity.
“Same Friday as in previous races: learning the track, and here it’s tough because it’s long,” Moreira said.
Despite the challenges, he reported feeling comfortable on the bike, though he acknowledged that mastering the circuit’s many corners will take time and laps.
“I need to keep learning the lines, and this only comes with laps,” he added.
Moreira was encouraged by his performance in the afternoon session and believes the team is moving in the right direction. He now turns his focus to Saturday’s Q1 session, where he will aim to improve his position and challenge for a place in Q2.
“The afternoon Practice was good, so we aim to do better tomorrow. We’ll see on Saturday, we are ready,” he said.
