Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour believes Mikel Arteta has the qualities needed to create a long-term legacy at Arsenal similar to the one established by legendary former manager Arsene Wenger.
Parlour, a key member of Arsenal’s famous “Invincibles” squad, praised Arteta for transforming the club back into a consistent Premier League contender after several difficult years following Wenger’s departure.
Arteta, who took charge of Arsenal in December 2019, has gradually rebuilt the squad with a younger core while restoring the club’s identity and competitiveness. His work has led to consecutive title challenges and a return to regular Champions League football.
Parlour believes the Spaniard’s connection to Arsenal gives him a strong foundation to remain at the club for many years, much like Wenger did during his historic 22-year reign in north London.
