Pedro Acosta secured his maiden MotoGP victory in impressive fashion at the Austrian Grand Prix, delivering a memorable home win for KTM at the Red Bull Ring. Starting fourth on the grid, the young Spaniard overcame an early drop to fifth before launching a strong charge through the field.
Aboard his factory KTM, Acosta quickly recovered his position and began closing in on the leaders. By lap nine of the 28-lap race, he had caught polesitter Jorge Martin and made his move for the lead. From there, Acosta maintained a strong pace, gradually pulling away from his rivals before crossing the finish line 1.01 seconds ahead of Martin.
The victory marked KTM's first MotoGP win since the 2022 Thai Grand Prix and gave Acosta a major career milestone in front of the manufacturer's home crowd.

Martin, meanwhile, secured a valuable second-place finish for Aprilia to strengthen his championship position. Starting from pole, the Spaniard initially led an all-Aprilia top three alongside Marco Bezzecchi and Ai Ogura. However, he soon came under pressure from his teammates before Acosta moved into contention.
Despite facing a late challenge from Bezzecchi, Martin held on to second place and collected important championship points, extending his advantage over Marc Marquez.
Marquez endured a challenging afternoon after losing positions at the start and running wide at Turn 1 on lap nine. The Ducati rider dropped as low as seventh but fought his way back through the field to finish fifth. Although he missed out on the podium, the recovery helped limit the damage to his championship hopes.
Aprilia enjoyed a strong overall result, with Bezzecchi completing the podium in third and Ogura finishing fourth for Trackhouse on his return from injury. KTM also had another reason to celebrate as Brad Binder secured sixth place, his best result of the season.
Francesco Bagnaia finished seventh for the factory Ducati team after battling past Gresini rider Fermin Aldeguer late in the race. The event saw just one retirement, with Alex Marquez crashing from 12th position, while Yamaha failed to score any points.
Acosta's breakthrough victory provided KTM with a significant boost at its home race, while Martin's second-place finish further intensified the championship battle. With both riders delivering strong results, the Austrian GP added another important chapter to an increasingly competitive MotoGP season.
