The Quang Tri Provincial Inspectorate held its 2026 Women’s Doubles Pickleball Tournament from 13 to 15 October, bringing together 11 pairs of female civil servants and employees to celebrate key anniversaries and promote fitness and camaraderie.

The Quang Tri Provincial Inspectorate has concluded its 2026 Women’s Doubles Pickleball Tournament, bringing colleagues together for three days of competition while marking important anniversaries. The event also reflects pickleball’s growing presence in Vietnam, where workplace and community organisations are increasingly incorporating the sport into their activities.

Key Highlights

  • The tournament ran from 13 to 15 October 2026, featuring 11 pairs of female civil servants and employees.
  • The event marked the 96th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union and anticipated the 81st Traditional Day of the Vietnam Inspectorate.
  • Organised by the Provincial Inspectorate’s Youth Union, the matches were scheduled outside working hours to accommodate participants’ professional duties.
  • Similar pickleball tournaments and exchanges have been held by organisations across Vietnam, including in Ninh Binh and Son La.

Celebrating Milestones Through Pickleball

The three-day tournament brought together 11 pairs of female civil servants and employees from the Quang Tri Provincial Inspectorate’s office and departments. It commemorated the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women’s Union on 20 October 1930 and anticipated the 81st anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Inspectorate on 23 November.

The event was organised under Plan No. 2385/KH-TTr, dated 27 August 2026, and run by the Youth Union of the Provincial Inspectorate. The opening ceremony took place on the afternoon of 13 October, attended by inspectorate leaders, heads of specialised departments, and a large gathering of officials, civil servants, and employees. Leaders presented flowers to the athletes to mark the start of the competition.

Balancing Professional Duties and Competition

To ensure participants could fulfil their work responsibilities while competing and supporting their teammates, the organising committee adjusted the original schedule. All matches were held outside working hours over the three-day event.

The matches took place at the Pickleball Co.opmart Dong Hoi arena, allowing the participants to enjoy the competition without disrupting their professional duties.

Competitive Matches and Strong Team Spirit

Despite being a grassroots, in-house event, the tournament featured an enthusiastic competitive spirit. According to the organisers, the matches were exciting and dramatic, with spectacular plays, intense point-scoring battles, and strong teamwork. Colleagues cheered from the stands, while fair play and sportsmanship helped create a joyful and cohesive atmosphere throughout the competition.

Nguyen Hoai Nam, Chief Inspector of Quang Tri Province, presented the first prize. The winning pair and individual match results were not disclosed. The tournament also provided a healthy outlet for physical activity while celebrating the confidence, dynamism, and contributions of female inspection officers.

Pickleball Events Spread Across Vietnam

Quang Tri’s tournament was part of a wider series of pickleball events held across Vietnam in connection with the Vietnam Women’s Union anniversary. The Women’s Association of the Ninh Binh Provincial Police Department held a tournament on 14 October, while the Son La Provincial Inspectorate and the provincial Youth Union also organised similar activities.

These events show how pickleball is reaching beyond dedicated clubs into workplaces and community organisations, creating more opportunities for people to stay active and connect with colleagues through sport.
