Fabio Quartararo has reacted to reports linking him with a 2027 move to Honda, choosing to stay focused on the present as the MotoGP rider market heats up ahead of the new season.

Fabio Quartararo has addressed growing speculation about a move to Honda for the 2027 MotoGP season, but offered a simple message as the rider market gains momentum. The 2021 world champion, speaking at the Sepang MotoGP Shakedown Test, did not confirm or deny reports that he has agreed to join Honda, instead urging attention to his current work.

Asked about the rumours on the second day of testing, Quartararo waved off the speculation. He said there was “too much talking” and that his focus remains on what is in front of him. When pressed about whether he is already working on a deal for next year, he responded with a gesture that suggested he was keeping his options to himself.

The discussion about his future followed a report from Motorsport.com claiming that Quartararo has signed with Honda for the 2027 season, marking a potential end to his long association with Yamaha, where he has raced since his premier-class debut in 2019.

If confirmed, the move would be one of the biggest developments in the early rider market period. It would place Quartararo on a factory Honda alongside other key riders and leave a vacancy at Yamaha that could open opportunities for others, including Jorge Martin. Reports have also emerged linking Pedro Acosta with a Ducati seat, adding to the broader reshuffle affecting several teams.

At Sepang, Quartararo did not ride on the opening day of the shakedown but went on to post the fourth-fastest time on day two. His focus remains on preparing for the upcoming official tests and assessing Yamaha’s new machinery, even as contract discussions continue behind the scenes.

The final day of the Sepang Shakedown takes place this weekend, followed by the full pre-season test from February 3-5, where riders and teams will continue to fine-tune their 2026 machines ahead of the new season.
