Heavy rain in Montreal forced the National Bank Open to postpone all of Monday’s singles quarter-finals, with the remaining last-eight matches now scheduled to take place on Tuesday.
The weather interruption came just as the tournament entered a crucial stage, with eight players from the new generation set to battle for places in the semi-finals. The revised schedule will now see all four quarter-finals played on the same day.
Among the most anticipated clashes is the meeting between Rafael Jodar and Arthur Fils. The pair are level at 1-1 in their previous encounters, adding another layer of intrigue to a match between two of the ATP Tour’s rising stars.
Jodar enters the contest after reaching the final of the ATP 500 event in Washington and will be chasing a first Masters 1000 semi-final appearance. Fils, meanwhile, has already reached two Masters 1000 semi-finals this season in Miami and Madrid and will be looking to add another deep run to his growing list of achievements.

Luciano Darderi will also return to action against Brandon Nakashima after the rain delay. Darderi enters the match after recording his 30th win of the season, a personal best.
For Nakashima, the quarter-final represents a significant career opportunity. The American is competing in his first Masters 1000 quarter-final and could reach a new career-high ranking of No. 25 in the PIF ATP Live Rankings if he advances to the semi-finals.
The other two quarter-final matches will see defending champion Ben Shelton face Jakub Mensik, while Learner Tien takes on Daniel Merida.
With all four matches now scheduled for Tuesday, the National Bank Open is set for a busy day of quarter-final action as the tournament's young contenders look to take another step towards a Masters 1000 title.
