Lowry will become just the second player in franchise history to have his number retired, joining Vince Carter, whose No. 15 was retired on November 2, 2024.

Raptors Announce GROAT Nights Celebration
Raptors fans will be at the centre of the celebrations, with additional GROAT Nights giving supporters more opportunities to relive some of Lowry’s most memorable moments with the franchise. The celebration begins on January 7 against the Minnesota Timberwolves and continues on January 8 against the Utah Jazz, with both games tipping off at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Fans attending the January 7 game will receive a collectible T-shirt, while those attending on January 8 will take home a limited-edition Kyle Lowry bobblehead. Special programming and surprises are also planned throughout both nights. The celebrations will culminate on January 10, when Lowry, his family, former teammates and the Raptors organisation gather as No. 7 is raised to the rafters.
Lowry’s Legacy Lives On in Toronto
To mark the announcement, the Raptors and Lowry will also give one lucky fan the chance to experience the milestone week by winning a pair of tickets to all three GROAT Nights. Contest details will be released through the Raptors’ social media channels and website in the coming days.
Lowry’s No. 7 will eventually hang alongside the 2019 championship banner he helped bring to Toronto after spending nine seasons with the Raptors. During that run, the team made the playoffs seven times, reached two Eastern Conference Finals and captured its historic inaugural championship in 2019.
A six-time NBA All-Star, Lowry also leaves Toronto as the franchise’s all-time leader in assists, steals and three-point field goals made, further cementing his place among the greatest players in Raptors history.
