Cole Makes the Case for Rashford

Speaking to SunSport, Joe Cole weighed in on a possible transfer, suggesting that the deal would largely depend on financial terms.
“It’s just a matter of the wages and the valuation. Rashford ticks a lot of boxes, but you don’t want to spend a fortune on him - he’d do a good job for Chelsea. He needs to keep going, Marcus, he needs to keep his confidence up because he rebuilt himself at Barcelona, and there’s still another level for him to jump to. He’s someone Chelsea should inquire about, but it’ll depend on the deal,” Cole said.

The possibility of a move has emerged after Barcelona reportedly decided against activating the purchase option in his loan deal. Instead, Hansi Flick’s side are said to have prioritised a move for Anthony Gordon, leaving Rashford’s long-term future away from Manchester United unresolved.
Cole also pointed to Chelsea’s financial limitations, stressing the importance of smart recruitment rather than big spending. He noted that the club must prioritise key positions and work within constraints, adding that squad balance and value-for-money signings will be crucial moving forward.
Arsenal Also Monitoring the Situation
Chelsea are not alone in monitoring the situation, with Arsenal also reportedly considering a move for the England forward. Mikel Arteta is said to value Rashford’s versatility and Premier League experience as he looks to strengthen his attacking options.
Rashford’s long-standing top-flight pedigree further strengthens his appeal, with nearly 300 Premier League appearances, 89 goals and 42 assists. His experience would immediately place him among the senior attacking figures in any squad he joins.
