McCullough will make the switch after a lengthy association with Aston Martin and its previous identities, Racing Point and Force India, where he held a range of engineering positions. The move represents another significant change to Red Bull's senior leadership structure as the Milton Keynes-based outfit continues to rebuild following several high-profile departures.
McCullough to Leave Aston Martin
McCullough's Aston Martin F1 involvement changed at the start of 2025 as part of a senior leadership restructure. He was moved away from the F1 project and into a wider role focused on expanding the team's presence across other racing categories.
It was confirmed last month that McCullough would leave Aston Martin at the end of the 2026 F1 season, although his next move had not been revealed at the time. That uncertainty has now been resolved, with Red Bull confirming that the experienced engineer will take up a key role with the team in 2027.

McCullough's appointment comes at a time of considerable change within Red Bull's senior ranks. One of the most notable upcoming departures is Max Verstappen's race engineer Gianpiero Lambiase, who is set to leave Red Bull when his contract expires in 2028 before joining McLaren as Chief Racing Officer.
Bringing in McCullough gives Red Bull another experienced figure as the team prepares for the next phase of its development and continues reshaping its racing operation.
McCullough's F1 Experience
McCullough brings more than two decades of Formula 1 experience to his new position. He began his F1 career with Williams in the early 2000s, spending around a decade with the team. He subsequently had a brief spell with Sauber before moving to Force India.
McCullough's long stint with the Silverstone-based operation saw him remain with the team through its transformation into Racing Point and eventually Aston Martin. Now, after years on the same side of the garage, he will begin a new chapter with Red Bull in 2027.
