The race to qualify for the 2026 Nitto ATP Finals is entering a crucial stage, with six players still chasing their first appearance at the prestigious season-ending event in Turin.
With the Asian hard-court swing now underway, the battle for the remaining qualification places is becoming increasingly tight. Several players are within reach of the leading positions, giving the tournaments in Asia added importance as the season moves towards its final weeks.
Flavio Cobolli is currently the highest-ranked player among those yet to make their ATP Finals debut. The Italian sits fifth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin with 3,530 points, just 520 points behind Carlos Alcaraz in fourth.
Cobolli has enjoyed the best season of his career so far, reaching the Roland Garros final and winning his first ATP 500 title in Acapulco. A place in Turin would be another major milestone, particularly with the prospect of competing at the season-ending event in front of his home fans.
The 24-year-old is scheduled to compete at the Laver Cup before turning his attention to the China Open in Beijing and the Rolex Shanghai Masters, giving him several opportunities to strengthen his position in the race.
Frances Tiafoe is just behind Cobolli in sixth with 3,330 points. The American has also enjoyed an impressive campaign, reaching the Cincinnati Masters final before advancing to the US Open semi-finals.
Tiafoe will now look to carry that momentum into the Asian swing, where strong results could help him maintain his position among the players currently in line for a Turin debut.
Arthur Fils is another player within touching distance of the qualification places. The Frenchman is seventh with 3,150 points after winning the Cincinnati Masters, where he defeated Tiafoe in the final.
His first-round exit at the US Open halted some of his momentum, but Fils has another opportunity to make up ground during the Asian swing, with the Shanghai Masters among the key events on his schedule.
Further down the standings, Rafael Jodar, Tommy Paul and Jakub Mensik remain within striking distance.
Jodar sits ninth with 2,509 points and has arguably made the biggest leap this season. The 20-year-old Spaniard has gone from competing at the Next Gen ATP Finals last November to challenging for a place at the senior ATP Finals less than a year later.

Jodar has posted a 37-15 record in 2026 and claimed his first ATP Tour title in Marrakech. He is also entering unfamiliar territory during the Asian swing, having never previously competed on the ATP Tour's Asian swing.
The Spaniard is scheduled to play in Tokyo and Shanghai, where strong performances could put him closer to an extraordinary achievement. If he qualifies for Turin, he would become only the second player after Stefanos Tsitsipas to compete at the Next Gen ATP Finals one year and the Nitto ATP Finals the following season.
Tommy Paul, meanwhile, occupies 11th place with 2,385 points. The 29-year-old American will also compete in Tokyo and Shanghai as he looks to close the gap on the players ahead of him.
Jakub Mensik is just behind Paul in 14th with 2,355 points. The 21-year-old Czech has a busy schedule ahead, with appearances at the Laver Cup, the China Open in Beijing and the Shanghai Masters all providing opportunities to add valuable points.
With the Asian swing offering several high-value tournaments, the race for Turin remains open. Cobolli, Tiafoe and Fils currently have the advantage, but Jodar, Paul and Mensik are close enough to remain in contention.
The coming weeks could therefore prove decisive, with every deep run capable of reshaping the standings and bringing another first-time ATP Finals contender closer to Turin.
