Smash Republic Marks Launch With Action-Packed Event
Smash Republic celebrated the launch with an event that brought together players, partners and supporters for a full day of pickleball action. Attendees took part in Open Play sessions, the Republic Challenge, target serve and longest dink contests, before the event concluded with a competitive mini-tournament.
Founding members Zabyzaky Leccio, Peter Balagulan, Jacklyn Rivera, Prince Constante and Janina Santiago also performed ceremonial “first serves” during the event, highlighting the brand’s ambition to make a lasting impact on Philippine pickleball.
Frost Series Focuses on Spin, Control and Feel
The Frost Series is the centrepiece of Smash Republic’s initial paddle lineup. The paddles feature T700 Eurocore Advance Honeycomb Technology, paired with a specially designed coarser-grit surface. The combination is engineered to provide players with a balance of spin, control, consistency, feel and durability.
Players who tested the paddles during the launch praised their performance, particularly the longer dwell time, which allows for greater ball manipulation, as well as precise shot placement. The technology is designed to support players across different skill levels, giving both newcomers and experienced players equipment aimed at enhancing their game.
Building a Pickleball Community Beyond Equipment
For Smash Republic, the launch is about more than introducing paddles to the market. CEO Zabyzaky Leccio said the brand’s philosophy is to “build communities, not just customers” while showcasing real players.
The company is working to make quality equipment more accessible, helping reduce barriers for new players while giving experienced enthusiasts the tools to develop further. By connecting players and highlighting local talent, Smash Republic hopes to contribute to a more vibrant and inclusive pickleball ecosystem in the Philippines.
Blck Series Next on Smash Republic’s Roadmap
With the Frost Series now on the market, attention is already turning to Smash Republic’s next planned release, the Blck Series. The upcoming series is part of the brand’s broader roadmap as it looks to establish itself as more than an equipment provider in the Philippine pickleball scene.
With the sport continuing to grow through shared passion and community connections, Smash Republic is aiming to play a role in building a stronger and more unified pickleball community across the country.
