Ben Shelton received an unexpected boost ahead of his National Bank Open title defence in Montreal after girlfriend Trinity Rodman surprised him at his hotel.
The US football star turned up outside Shelton’s hotel room without telling him beforehand, catching the tennis player completely off guard just hours before his scheduled match.
Rodman later shared the moment on her Instagram Story, writing, “Surprised his a**, happy matchday in Montreal 😘❤️ @benshelton.”
In the video, Shelton can be seen opening his hotel door before realising Rodman was waiting outside. The surprise initially left him stunned, followed by a playful reaction before the pair reunited.

The lighthearted moment offered Shelton a welcome break from the pressure surrounding his title defence at the ATP Masters 1000 event.
With the tournament entering its later stages, Shelton faces a tough challenge as he looks to continue his run in Montreal. The American is set to face Joao Fonseca, with a place in the next round at stake.
