British wildcard Arthur Fery continued his breakthrough week at Queen's Club by defeating Adrian Mannarino to reach the first ATP Tour quarter-final of his career. The 23-year-old is now the last home player remaining in the singles draw.

Arthur Fery produced another standout performance at the HSBC Championships to reach his first ATP Tour quarter-final, defeating France's Adrian Mannarino in straight sets at Queen's Club.

The British wildcard, ranked world No. 140, overcame the experienced Frenchman 7-6 (9-7), 6-4 to continue his impressive run on home soil and become the last British player remaining in the singles competition.

Playing on Andy Murray Arena, Fery showed composure throughout a closely contested match, even after requiring treatment for a nosebleed at the beginning of the second set.

The victory represents the biggest achievement of his career to date, surpassing the memorable upset of then-world No. 20 Alexei Popyrin at Wimbledon last year.

"It’s special to be playing in London where I grew up and in front of all these British tennis fans," Fery said after the match.

"This is the best result of my career so far. It's not been easy. There have been lots of ups and downs, so I'm happy to get through."

Fery entered the tournament after Cameron Norrie's early exit left British hopes resting on his shoulders, and he responded with another confident display.

The 23-year-old made a strong start by breaking Mannarino's serve in the opening game, but the veteran Frenchman fought back from 3-0 down to force a first-set tiebreak.

Fery rose to the occasion during the crucial moments, producing a series of impressive winners and sharp net play before eventually sealing the set after a tense battle.

A brief medical timeout to deal with a nosebleed threatened to disrupt his momentum, but Fery quickly regained control. He secured the decisive break in the ninth game of the second set with a powerful forehand winner before serving out the match to complete the victory.

His reward is a quarter-final meeting with seventh seed Francisco Cerundolo, who advanced after a convincing straight-sets win over American Jenson Brooksby.

Former British No. 1 John Lloyd praised Fery's performance and believes the young Briton has the potential to climb much higher in the rankings.

Lloyd highlighted Fery's movement, variety and ability to perform under pressure, suggesting he has the tools to eventually break into the world's top 50.

Elsewhere at Queen's, top seed Alex de Minaur booked his place in the quarter-finals with a comfortable 6-4, 6-1 victory over Denis Shapovalov. The Australian will next face American Brandon Nakashima.

Across Europe, several leading players also progressed at their respective grass-court events. Daniil Medvedev, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz and Felix Auger-Aliassime all advanced to the quarter-finals of the Halle Open in Germany.

At the Berlin Open, world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka reached the last eight, while Coco Gauff suffered an early exit after losing to Paula Badosa. Alexandra Eala also continued her impressive form by defeating recent Queen's champion Donna Vekic in straight sets.

In Nottingham, Emma Navarro moved into the quarter-finals, while British teenager Hannah Klugman remains in contention and will look to reach the last eight when she faces Marie Bouzkova.
