Diogo Moreira continued his impressive rookie campaign by finishing as Honda's leading rider in Saturday's Sprint at the Sachsenring, crossing the line in 10th after a determined ride from 14th on the grid.
The Pro Honda LCR rider made an excellent start and quickly joined the fight for the top 10 on the narrow and technical German circuit, where overtaking opportunities were limited.
"It's a nice track to ride, but the race is difficult because there's only one racing line," Moreira said.
The Brazilian maintained a competitive pace throughout the Sprint, battling with riders ahead while carefully managing the challenging conditions. Despite struggling with rear grip, he stayed composed and avoided costly mistakes to secure 10th place, narrowly missing out on the points.
"We survived the Sprint and we're happy with the result, although it's a challenging track for our bike."
Moreira said his focus was on pushing to the limit without overstepping the mark, a strategy that allowed him to maximise the bike's potential on a circuit that exposed Honda's current limitations.
"I pushed as much as possible while staying in control and avoiding mistakes, so I'm pleased with the job we did."
Although satisfied with the performance, Moreira admitted there is still room for improvement ahead of Sunday's Grand Prix, with grip remaining the team's biggest concern.
"We're missing some grip, so let's see what we can do tomorrow."
