Go Pei Kee is back in the national badminton set-up after leaving BAM's women's doubles squad in February. The 23-year-old will now take on a new challenge in mixed doubles.

Go Pei Kee has returned to the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) after several months away from the national set-up, but she will be taking a different path in her career.

The 23-year-old, who previously competed in women's doubles, is set to switch to mixed doubles following her return to the national fold.

Pei Kee's comeback comes after she left BAM's women's doubles squad in February, following the end of her partnership with Teoh Mei Xing. Their split came as a surprise, with the pair having established themselves as one of Malaysia's leading women's doubles combinations.

The duo reached a career-high world ranking of No. 18 and won the 2024 Malaysia Super 100 title during their partnership.

Her departure initially raised questions about her future in the sport. Although BAM had hoped to retain her services, Pei Kee later confirmed that she would not be returning to the national women's doubles squad.

Her decision to rejoin the association in a different discipline now offers a fresh opportunity to continue her career under the national programme.

The switch to mixed doubles also marks a new challenge for Pei Kee as she looks to adapt to a different playing format and establish herself in another event.
