Malaysia’s Goh Jin Wei made a confident start to her Macau Open campaign, producing a composed straight-games victory to reach the second round and continue her encouraging run of form on the international circuit.

Goh Jin Wei kicked off her Macau Open challenge in impressive fashion after defeating Indonesia's Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi in straight games to advance to the women's singles second round.

The Malaysian, currently ranked world No. 43, looked in control throughout the contest as she secured a comfortable 21-13, 21-16 victory. Her aggressive attacking play and sharp court coverage allowed her to dictate proceedings from the outset, leaving little room for her opponent to mount a comeback.

Jin Wei established her dominance early by taking the opening game with ease. Although Pratiwi offered greater resistance in the second game, the Malaysian remained composed and maintained her advantage to close out the match in straight games.

The result continues a positive run of performances for the former world junior champion, who has shown encouraging signs of returning to her best level. In recent months, Jin Wei has delivered several notable displays, including an impressive victory over former world No. 12 Busanan Ongbamrungphan at the Malaysia Masters.

Her growing confidence has been evident on court, with improved movement, consistent shot-making and greater composure in key moments helping her produce stronger results against higher-ranked opponents.

With her opening hurdle cleared, Jin Wei will now turn her attention to the second round, where she is set to face either India's eighth seed Anmol Kharb or Indonesia's Mutiara Ayu Puspitasari.

A strong run in Macau would provide another boost to her ranking and further strengthen her comeback momentum as she continues her push back up the world standings.

For now, the Malaysian can take plenty of positives from a convincing opening performance that underlined both her current form and growing belief heading deeper into the tournament.
