Jorge Martin is ready to fight until the end of the 2026 MotoGP season, even if it means winning the championship with just one Sunday race victory. The Aprilia rider heads to Indonesia with a two-point lead over Marc Marquez, confident that more wins could still come.

Jorge Martin is willing to win the 2026 MotoGP world championship with just one Grand Prix victory, as the Aprilia rider prepares for a tense battle with Marc Marquez in the final stages of the season.

Martin arrives at the Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika with only a two-point advantage over Marquez after the Ducati rider won both the sprint and main race at Motegi last weekend. With the championship fight tightening, Martin remains determined to stay in contention until the final round.

“If there is something that characterises me, it is that I never give up,” Martin said. “I would sign right now to be champion with one victory.”

The Spaniard has claimed just one Sunday race win this season, coming at Le Mans, where he collected the maximum 37 points across the sprint and Grand Prix. Although winning a championship with so few race victories is increasingly difficult in modern MotoGP, Martin believes consistency and the unpredictable nature of racing could work in his favour.

Mechanical problems, changing conditions and other unexpected incidents can quickly alter the standings, making every round important as the title battle unfolds.

Despite his willingness to settle for a single Grand Prix win if it secures the championship, Martin remains optimistic about his chances of standing on the top step again.

“With the confidence and speed I have right now, I think the victory will come,” he added.

Martin has already experienced a shift in the championship lead this season. He lost top spot to Marquez at Misano when the pair were level on points, before reclaiming it in Austria and holding on through the Japanese Grand Prix. However, Marquez's recent success has reduced his margin to just two points.

The upcoming Indonesian round presents another opportunity for Martin to strengthen his position, although the demanding Mandalika circuit and the challenging tropical conditions will test both riders and their machines.

Beyond the championship battle, Martin also shared his concerns about MotoGP's planned qualifying changes for 2027. He expects the new format to be more demanding for riders and believes it could increase the risks involved, even if it succeeds in attracting more fans to the sport.

Martin acknowledged that the teams had put forward a proposal that was accepted, but argued that riders should have a stronger voice in major decisions affecting their safety and working conditions.

For now, his priority remains clear: maximise every opportunity, avoid unnecessary mistakes and keep fighting for the title. Whether he wins once or adds more victories, Martin is determined to remain in the championship battle until the very end.
