Malaysian shuttler Lee Zii Jia has reached a settlement with his father and younger brother over a dispute involving his company’s finances and management, bringing an end to the court proceedings after mediation.

Malaysian badminton star Lee Zii Jia has reached a settlement in his legal dispute with his father, Chee Hin, and younger brother, Tao, over the financial and management affairs of his company.

The High Court brought the matter to a close on Thursday after judge Leong Wai Hong recorded a consent judgment following successful mediation between Lee and his family members. The agreement helped resolve the dispute without the need for a prolonged court battle.

The case centred on issues involving the operation and management of Lee’s company, which had drawn attention amid concerns over its financial affairs. Lee was the applicant in the proceedings, while his father, 59, and younger brother, 25, were named as respondents.

As part of the settlement, an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) has been ordered to take place by the end of the month. The meeting is expected to address the company’s outstanding management and financial matters, providing an opportunity for the parties to move forward under an agreed process.

The resolution marks an important development in Lee’s off-court affairs as he continues his badminton career. While the settlement brings the court proceedings to a conclusion, the upcoming EGM will be a key step in addressing the company-related issues at the centre of the dispute.

Lee, one of Malaysia’s leading men’s singles players, will now look to put the matter behind him and focus on his professional commitments, with fans hoping for a positive period ahead on and off the court.
