Luca Marini could have his MotoGP future confirmed as soon as this weekend, with the Honda rider hinting that an announcement on his 2027 plans is close.
Marini's Honda career will come to an end after the 2026 season, with the factory team expected to field Fabio Quartararo alongside either David Alonso or Diogo Moreira next year. Joan Mir is also leaving Honda for Gresini Ducati, while Johann Zarco remains under contract through 2027.
That leaves Marini without a place at Honda, and he has increasingly been linked with a move to Tech3 KTM for the new 850cc era.
Speaking ahead of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Marini suggested that the wait for confirmation may soon be over.
"I think maybe this weekend we will have some announcement," the Italian said.
Marini did not reveal where he will be racing next season, but he indicated that he is happy with the outcome of the negotiations.
"Now it's not the moment to talk about this, but for sure I'm happy," he added.
The 29-year-old also made it clear that his motivation to remain in MotoGP has not changed despite losing his factory Honda seat.

"MotoGP is the dream for everybody, so to be here is fantastic and I feel that I still can do a lot of things here," Marini said.
While his future appears to be moving away from Honda, Marini insists that this has not affected his approach to the remainder of the 2026 campaign. He believes Honda remains fully committed to improving its current bike, even with the major technical changes coming next season.
The switch to 850cc engines and Pirelli tyres in 2027 means manufacturers are already directing much of their resources towards their next-generation machines. Marini believes that makes development of the current 1000cc bike more difficult, but he still hopes Honda can make meaningful progress before the end of the year.
A podium finish may be difficult, he admitted, but Marini believes Honda could consistently challenge for top-six results if the team finds a few more improvements.
"The bike has improved this year but not enough, but if we are able to find two or three details I think we are able to fight for sure for the top-six in every GP," he said.
For now, the focus remains on finishing his Honda chapter strongly. But with Marini expecting news as early as this weekend, his next MotoGP move could soon become one of the final pieces of the 2027 rider market puzzle.
