Jorge Martin says he is finally fully comfortable with Aprilia’s RS-GP25, a breakthrough that could reshape the title fight as he closes in on teammate Marco Bezzecchi.

Jorge Martin believes he has turned a corner with Aprilia after declaring that the RS-GP25 now feels fully natural to ride, marking a significant step in his 2026 MotoGP campaign.

The reigning world champion has endured a difficult start to life with Aprilia since joining in 2025, struggling with injuries and consistency while teammate Marco Bezzecchi emerged as the team’s leading contender. However, recent results suggest a shift in momentum.

A podium finish in Brazil followed by a sprint race victory in the United States have signalled Martin’s return to form. Ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix at Circuito de Jerez, he said the bike now feels like an extension of himself, similar to the connection he experienced during his title-winning 2024 season.

The improvement comes after a period of adaptation. Martin adjusted his riding style to suit the characteristics of the RS-GP25, while Aprilia’s development work over the winter delivered a more competitive package. He noted that the first signs of progress were already clear during pre-season testing in Thailand, where the bike felt more manageable and consistent.

Despite the progress, Martin remains cautious about his immediate prospects. He admitted he does not yet feel ready to fight consistently for Grand Prix victories, although he would not hesitate to seize an opportunity if it arises.

Further gains may come during the post-race test at Jerez, where Martin is expected to evaluate new components as part of Aprilia’s ongoing development programme.

His resurgence adds a new dimension to the championship battle. Bezzecchi currently leads the standings, but Martin’s improving form creates internal competition within the Aprilia garage that could influence the title race.

At the same time, speculation continues about Martin’s long-term future, with reports linking him to a move to Yamaha in 2027. For now, his focus remains on maximising his performance with Aprilia as the season unfolds.
