Diogo Moreira continued his steady rise in MotoGP with a career-best seventh-place finish in the Sprint race at Balaton Park. The LCR Honda rider produced an impressive charge from 11th on the grid and held his own in several intense battles to secure valuable points.

Diogo Moreira recorded the best Sprint result of his MotoGP career after finishing seventh in Saturday’s race at Balaton Park.

The LCR Honda rider started from 11th on the grid but made an excellent launch, quickly gaining positions and moving into sixth place during the opening stages.

Moreira remained firmly in the fight throughout the race, defending his position against several rivals while continuing to showcase the progress made by both rider and team over the course of the weekend.

The Brazilian said he pushed to the limit to maximise the potential of his package and was satisfied with the outcome.

"Today I gave absolutely everything in the Sprint. I did my best and got the most out of our package to secure this result."

Moreira believes Sprint races currently offer one of his strongest opportunities to compete near the front and was pleased to capitalise on that advantage.

"We know we can be more competitive in Sprint races, and that’s what I tried to make the most of today."

Although he eventually dropped one position from his early race high, Moreira crossed the line in seventh place to collect Sprint points and achieve his best result in the premier class so far.

Encouraged by the team's recent development, the 22-year-old is eager to carry the momentum into Sunday's Grand Prix.

"We’re working really well and making progress every weekend, so we need to keep this momentum going and see what we can achieve tomorrow."
