Diogo Moreira delivered his best MotoGP result yet at Balaton Park, charging from 11th on the grid to finish sixth after a determined ride despite a tyre gamble that did not pay off.

Diogo Moreira continued his impressive rookie MotoGP campaign by securing a career-best sixth-place finish at Balaton Park on Sunday.

The Pro Honda LCR rider started from 11th on the grid but quickly moved through the field with a strong opening lap, joining the battle at the front and challenging for a place on the podium.

Throughout the 26-lap race, the Brazilian showcased his overtaking ability and maintained a competitive pace, consistently fighting among the leading group despite facing a tyre setback.

Moreira later revealed that the team’s decision to use the medium tyre may not have been the best choice for the race conditions.

"Today I tried to handle the situation as best as I could, and I think we did a good race," said Moreira.

"Maybe we made the wrong choice with the tyre, going for the medium, as it wasn't the ideal option."

Despite the challenge, the 22-year-old remained competitive until the chequered flag and secured sixth place, marking his strongest MotoGP result to date.

"Even so, we managed to finish in a good position and with a consistent pace. I'm proud of the work we've done this weekend."

The result further highlights Moreira's growing confidence and potential in his debut MotoGP season, as he continues to establish himself as one of the championship's most promising young riders.
