MotoGP has pushed back Thursday's Qatar Grand Prix press conference by four hours as several riders plan to arrive later than usual amid ongoing safety concerns and tensions over the race.

MotoGP has revised its Qatar Grand Prix schedule, delaying Thursday's pre-race press conference by four hours as several riders are expected to arrive in the country later than usual amid an ongoing dispute over the event.

The press conference at Lusail International Circuit has been moved from 4pm to 8pm local time, following reports that riders intend to delay their arrival in Qatar as much as possible.

The schedule adjustment comes amid growing tensions between MotoGP officials and riders over the decision to proceed with the Qatar Grand Prix despite the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

During the Malaysian Grand Prix, reports emerged that 19 of the 22 riders had signed a letter expressing their opposition to racing in Qatar. The riders have been seeking further assurances from MotoGP regarding safety arrangements, including evacuation procedures, insurance coverage and liability in the event of an emergency.

Although the championship has confirmed that the race will go ahead, several riders have openly voiced their concerns. Jack Miller will be absent after Yamaha withdrew from the event, while Alex Marquez is also set to miss the weekend following surgery on his injured right shoulder.

Joan Mir remains uncertain for Qatar after recurring vision problems forced him to retire from the Malaysian Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Jorge Martin, Raul Fernandez and Fermin Aldeguer are expected to travel to Lusail in an attempt to return from their respective injuries.

Several riders have also indicated they will arrive as late as possible. Pedro Acosta travelled to Bali after the Malaysian round, while championship leader Marc Marquez plans to return to Spain before arriving in Qatar on Thursday evening.

Despite the press conference delay, the change is not expected to significantly affect the remainder of the race weekend. However, it highlights the unusual circumstances surrounding this year's Qatar Grand Prix, with rider concerns and uncertainty continuing to shape preparations for the event.

The Qatar Grand Prix remains scheduled for November 6-8, with the revised press conference set to take place on Thursday evening.
