World Superbike frontrunner Nicolò Bulega has played down expectations over a potential MotoGP move for 2027, stating that not securing a place on the grid would not be seen as bad news for his career.
Bulega, who has emerged as one of the standout performers in WorldSBK, remains linked with a possible step up to MotoGP as the sport prepares for its major technical regulation changes in 2027. These changes are expected to reshape the grid, with new machinery and revised technical rules opening potential opportunities for riders across championships.
Despite the speculation, Bulega has taken a relaxed stance on his future. He indicated that while MotoGP remains a long-term ambition, he is not placing pressure on himself to secure a move, suggesting he is comfortable continuing his current path if a premier class opportunity does not materialise.

The Italian has already been involved in Ducati’s MotoGP project as a test rider and has also gained limited race experience as a substitute in recent seasons. His work in development, combined with strong WorldSBK performances, has kept him in consideration for a future seat.
However, competition for 2027 MotoGP places is expected to be intense, with limited factory and satellite seats available across the grid. Some reports suggest that even strong WorldSBK results may not guarantee a promotion due to the small number of openings and heavy interest from multiple riders.
For now, Bulega remains focused on his WorldSBK campaign while continuing to contribute to Ducati’s MotoGP development programme. His comments underline a calm and measured approach to his future, even as speculation around the 2027 season continues to grow.
