Toprak Razgatlioglu secured his best MotoGP result to date, offering further proof that the three-time World Superbike champion is adapting to life in the premier class. Yet the Turkish rider left the weekend frustrated, believing a costly mistake prevented him from achieving an even stronger finish.

Toprak Razgatlioglu may have achieved his strongest MotoGP result so far, but the Turkish rookie was far from satisfied after a mistake denied him the chance to challenge for an even better finish.

The Prima Pramac Yamaha rider continued his steady progress in the premier class, delivering what he described as his most competitive race since making the switch from World Superbikes. However, rather than celebrating the result, Razgatlioglu was left reflecting on a costly error that he believes compromised his performance.

After spending much of the season adapting to MotoGP machinery, Michelin tyres and Yamaha's evolving package, the three-time World Superbike champion has gradually begun to close the gap to the more established riders. His latest outing provided another encouraging sign that he is becoming increasingly comfortable in the category.

Despite the progress, Razgatlioglu admitted that a mistake during the race left him disappointed. The error cost him valuable time and disrupted his rhythm at a crucial stage, making it difficult to maximise the pace he felt he had throughout the weekend.

The frustration stemmed from the belief that a stronger result was within reach. Rather than focusing on the positives of securing his best MotoGP finish, Razgatlioglu was more concerned with the opportunities that slipped away.

His reaction highlights the competitive mindset that helped him win three World Superbike titles. Even as a MotoGP rookie still learning the demands of the championship, he is already measuring success against what might have been rather than simply celebrating personal milestones.

The performance nevertheless offered further evidence that the adaptation process is moving in the right direction. After a difficult start to life in MotoGP, where Yamaha's development challenges and the steep learning curve often left him fighting near the back of the field, Razgatlioglu is beginning to show flashes of the talent that made him one of the most successful riders in World Superbike history.

With confidence growing and results gradually improving, the focus now shifts to converting those encouraging performances into regular points finishes and top-ten challenges. If his latest race is any indication, Razgatlioglu's breakthrough in MotoGP may be closer than the final result alone suggests.

For now, though, the Turkish rider leaves the weekend with mixed emotions. His best MotoGP finish to date confirmed his progress, but the mistake that limited his potential result ensured there was little room for celebration.
