Francesco Bagnaia is determined to rediscover his best form at the Malaysian GP, with Sepang offering a familiar setting for the Ducati rider. Despite an unpredictable track surface and new tyre options, he plans to take more risks in pursuit of a strong result.

Francesco Bagnaia is determined to turn his difficult season around at the Malaysian Grand Prix, declaring his willingness to take more risks as he looks to rediscover his confidence at the Sepang International Circuit.

The Ducati rider has endured a challenging campaign and is eager to regain the enjoyment he once found on his GP26. With the season approaching its conclusion, Bagnaia sees the Malaysian GP as an opportunity to deliver a strong performance and finish the year on a positive note.

"I will risk more to enjoy," Bagnaia said, making his intentions clear ahead of the weekend.

Sepang could offer the Italian a suitable opportunity to bounce back, given his strong record at the circuit. He has won two of the last four Malaysian GP races and has consistently shown good pace at the venue.

At last year's event, Bagnaia secured pole position and won the sprint race despite experiencing difficulties with his GP24. His previous performances have given him confidence heading into this weekend, although the changing track conditions could present a different challenge.

One of the biggest talking points is the condition of the circuit. While extensive resurfacing work had initially been planned, only certain sections of the Sepang track were eventually resurfaced. This could result in inconsistent grip levels across different parts of the circuit, making tyre selection and bike setup particularly important.

Michelin has also introduced an additional medium rear tyre option, which was initially prepared with a fully resurfaced circuit in mind. However, with the resurfacing work only partially completed, teams will need to assess how the new compound performs on the mixed track surface.

Bagnaia acknowledged that the tyre allocation differs from what riders experienced during the earlier Sepang test.

"They brought different tyres compared to the test, because they were thinking that the circuit was resurfacing," he explained.

The revised tyre options could make Friday's practice sessions especially important as teams work to understand the available grip and find the right setup for the weekend.

Despite the uncertainties, Bagnaia remains optimistic about his chances at a circuit where he has enjoyed considerable success. His willingness to take more risks reflects his desire to regain confidence and make the most of the remaining races.

With Sepang offering a familiar challenge and an opportunity to put his difficult season behind him, the Ducati rider will be hoping to turn his determination into a competitive result in Malaysia.
