Malaysia will still have two representatives in the mixed doubles event at the 2026 World Championships in New Delhi despite the withdrawal of defending champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei.
Replacing the world No. 7 pair are Wong Tien Ci-Lim Chiew Sien, who have moved into the main draw after initially being placed on the reserve list. They will join Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai Jemie as Malaysia's mixed doubles representatives at the tournament, scheduled from Aug 17-23.

The Badminton World Federation (BWF) confirmed the changes on Wednesday (July 29), stating that Tang Jie and Ee Wei withdrew due to Ee Wei's ongoing recovery from a serious knee injury.
Ee Wei suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in her left knee during their Singapore Open quarter-final match in May. After undergoing surgery, the 2026 world No. 7 is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
The BWF also confirmed the withdrawals of Indonesia's Adnan Maulana-Indah Cahya Sari Jamil and Algeria's Koceila Mammeri-Tanina Violette Mammeri.
Their places in the competition will be taken by China's Chen Xing-Zhang Chi and Indonesia's Marwan Faza-Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata.
Tang Jie and Ee Wei made history last year by becoming Malaysia's first mixed doubles world champions after winning the title in Paris. However, their absence means Malaysia's hopes will now rest on Soon Huat-Shevon and the newly promoted Tien Ci-Chiew Sien pair in New Delhi.
