Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga will be re-evaluated in the coming days after suffering a bone bruise and knee hyperextension

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Golden State Warriors announced Sunday that forward Jonathan Kuminga will be unavailable once more due to a bone bruise and a hyperextended left knee, as the team prepared to play in Minnesota.

Sunday’s matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves was moved from its original date to prioritize community safety after the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alex Pretti by federal immigration officers in Minneapolis earlier in the weekend, an incident that sparked widespread outrage and protests.

The Warriors said they will set a date for a re-evaluation of Kuminga’s condition in the coming days. Kuminga, now in his fifth NBA season, missed Golden State’s most recent game Thursday in Dallas due to the injury and underwent an MRI on Friday.

Kuminga had just returned to the rotation following the season-ending knee injury to Jimmy Butler and had been sidelined for about a month, with speculation rising that a trade could occur before the Feb. 5 deadline.

Meanwhile, Stephen Curry, who was listed as questionable to play Sunday because of right knee soreness developed Saturday, was cleared after completing pregame warmups. Al Horford (left toe injury management) and De’Anthony Melton (left knee injury management) were also available Sunday, with plans to rest both players in the rescheduled game Monday against Minnesota.
