Diogo Moreira produced a determined performance at the Aragon GP on Sunday, fighting his way to ninth place and finishing as the top Honda rider of the race.
Starting 10th on the grid, the Pro Honda LCR rider made a strong getaway and quickly joined the battle for the top six. However, the medium rear tyre made the early stages challenging for Moreira.
“At the beginning, it was difficult because we knew that the situation would be harder for us with the medium tyre,” Moreira explained.
As the race progressed, the Brazilian found his rhythm and began battling more confidently with his rivals. He defended his position strongly and remained in contention for a solid result.
“Then I was able to fight, and it was nice,” he said.
Moreira came under pressure late in the race and admitted to making a mistake in the final lap, particularly in the last sector. Despite that, he managed to hold on to ninth at the chequered flag.
“I made a mistake on the last lap, in the last sector, and in the end, I crossed the line in ninth.”
The result capped a consistent weekend for Moreira and gave Honda an encouraging result at Aragon. The rookie believes the team is moving in the right direction and is eager to build on the progress made.
“We are doing a good job, and it was a consistent weekend. Let’s keep working like that!”
