Qatar remains committed to hosting this year’s Formula 1 and MotoGP Grands Prix at the Losail International Circuit, despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East.
The Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) and Losail International Circuit say preparations for both major events are continuing as planned. While regional developments remain difficult to predict, organizers insist they are focused on delivering safe and successful races.
The announcement comes after the WEC Qatar 1812 KM was initially postponed before being cancelled earlier this year, raising concerns over whether other international motorsport events in the region could face similar difficulties.

However, QMMF and Losail International Circuit president Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Latif Al Mannai said the WEC situation should not be viewed as an indication of what will happen with F1 and MotoGP.
He stressed that Qatar remains capable of hosting major international sporting events when conditions are safe and stable. The country has previously staged several high-profile competitions and has the infrastructure needed to accommodate international teams, athletes and spectators.
Al Mannai also pointed to Qatar's fully operational airport and said daily life in the country has returned to normal, reinforcing the country's readiness to welcome major sporting events.
The Formula 1 Qatar Grand Prix is scheduled for late November, while MotoGP is also expected to return to Losail later in the year. Both events remain important fixtures on the international motorsport calendar.
For now, organizers will continue monitoring developments in the region while pressing ahead with preparations. If conditions remain suitable, fans can once again look forward to the distinctive sight and sound of night racing under the floodlights at Losail.
Qatar's continued commitment provides some reassurance for F1 and MotoGP, although the final outcome will ultimately depend on the wider regional situation and the safety conditions closer to each event.
